If this website is of any interest to you and you would like to follow the articles as they are added then here are a few tips to help you do this more efficiently.
This website offers 4 different RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds. This allows you to track the lastest news, articles, events and images without actually having to search the website for new material. Simply setup your RSS news reader to reference this website's RSS feeds and you will be automatically notified when new articles or pictures are added.
On the bottom menu of every page there is a link to the Discover Yorkshire sitemap. This lists all the articles currently held in the Discover Yorkshire database. All the articles are laid out in a nice hierarchical structure making them easy to see and search through.
As of January 2011 you can now search the Discover Yorkshire website. A search area is visible on every page and is located towards the bottom left of the main website banner.
To search for specific images in the gallery you may use the gallery search feature. This looks at the descriptions associated with any image and if there is a match or partial match with your search term the image (or a group of images) will be returned.
There are lots of external links on this website. All external links will open in a new window (or tab) in your browser. All such links are denoted by the new window symbol ( ) in order to help you, the visitor, know how a link will react when clicked. Any links that do not show the new window symbol are simply a link to another page on the Discover Yorkshire website. Also note that I'm not responsible for the content of any third party website.

Discover Yorkshire is a website dedicated to promoting Yorkshire places, attractions, culture and heritage. Over the coming months I intend to build up this website with lots of useful information all about Yorkshire. This will hopefully include information about towns and villages, visitor attractions and events. In addition to information that can probably be found on many other websites I intend to cover some less well known information about Yorkshire. Basically anything goes!
My goal is to add at least one page of information per week and hopefully more where time allows. I also intend to build up an impressive picture gallery to compliment my articles. Furthermore I'm going to build up a page of coming events so if you have something you would like listed then please let me know by contacting me. I am going to allow some advertising on Discover Yorkshire but I don't want this to detract visitors from the content and therefore have not decided how I'm going to do this yet. My main priority is to add new content and work on ways to improve the websites ranking on Google etc.
Discover Yorkshire is driven by a Web Content Management System (WCMS) that I have written named RyeTEK CMS. My WCMS currently runs a few commercial websites as well as Discover Yorkshire and I really must update my portfolio on my RyeTEK CMS website to reflect this. If you would like a website where you can control your own content then please contact me and I'd be happy to show you a demo of RyeTEK CMS.
