  • Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum

Extreme Airfix!Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum is dedicated to British military and social history from 1914 onwards and has a strong bias to World War 2. Eden Camp is actually found within the grounds of an original World War 2 prisoner of war camp. Originally opened in 1987 Eden Camp is now a very popular visitor attraction located on the outskirts of Malton. Eden Camp has won various awards at both local and regional levels and is well worth a visit.

Outside you will find replicas of many World War 2 military vehicles including a Spitfire, a V1 flying bomb and a Sherman Tank. Inside the many prisoner huts you will find themed displays with many exhibits. Taking Hut 11 as an example you'll find it's dedicated to the First World War with exhibits and texts covering the main events and actions. If you are interested in military history you'll find it's difficult to get around Eden Camp in one day.

During the year Eden Camp also holds various events examples of which include a World War 2 re-enactors weekend, an airborne forces day and an Annual Remembrance Parade and Service. Finally in my opinion the entrance fees are very reasonable at only £6.00 per adult and it's even cheaper for groups of more than ten people.

    Opening Information

Eden Camp is open Monday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm with last admissions at 4pm.
